Really glad I stumbled on this place. After eating at one tourist trap after another I tried this place and I was pleasantly surprised. The chef is from Austria and has worked at some pretty impressive restaurants in her past. Nice to find a tapas place for one, and one that utilizes the local seafood sources. Probably the best views of town and the harbor from the rooftop deck.
Very poor service and an overpriced lobster roll skimpy on the lobster. We ordered clam chowder to be served prior to the lobster roll and the lobster roll was served without ever getting the clam chowder. I told the server we wanted the clam chowder first. He took the lobster roll back and then a minute later another server brought out the lobster roll again. Still no clam chowder! Finally, our original server brought both the clam chowder and the lobster roll together.
We sat outside on the top level of the restaurant and had this gorgeous view. I highly recommend it. The good was great. We ordered a bunch of tapas.
Dinner of 8 with friends. The wait staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and prompt. The food was excellent with good portion size and a wide variety of Maine and seafood oriented tapas entrees. We'll definitely be going back to Boathouse Bistro
When we arrived we were greeted promptly. Once we were seated, our server came over, welcomed us and introduced herself. The entries were fantastic and the blueberry cheesecake was out of this world. She checked on us to make sure everything was ok and to fill up our waters. We frequently eat here because the food never disappoints us and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
