I never take the time to write reviews but this place made me so angry I had no choice. Food was excellent......fries are out of this world but my husband ordered the half haddock fish and chips charged 12.00 reasonable right? I ordered the traditional lobster roll and was billed at 24.00. In Maine right on the harbor.....lobster market price is 5.50 per pound. The sandwich consisted of lobster scraps. Not meat from the tail. It was meat from the claws. I feel so jipped.
Great food and views but the beer menu was inadequate (very few options). One of the folks in my group ended up having to skip the beer they were looking forward to because they basically only had IPAs and lagers. No porters/stouts.
I have the feeling that this is probably a good eatery, but on the particular day i was there it seemed that there was only one server who was doubling as a bartender. I think our meal was done about 20 minutes before she picked it up and brought it to us. Food was great, but cheese had gone cold, everything had cooled. It was supposed to be a hot dish but was not. Lie marked for service, high marks for food.
Would rate a 0 star if i could, food very unsanitary and the owner is a douchebag, he also was caught stealing tip percentages a few years back at the other restaurant he worked at (McSeagulls) i know this because i worked there. There was multiple times that i found mold on the food after i was told to prepare it to be served. Overall probably the worst restaurant I've ever worked at.
The clam chowder is dynamite though - if you go highly recommend getting a cup.
We liked it. We were there in mid-October in the mid-afternoon. It was minimally busy and everything was very good. I had a freshly line caught bluefin tuna steak. It was melt in the mouth good.y wife liked her shrimp pizza. The three photos of Boothbay Harbor are from a window in MineOyster.
